It is amazing how Jesus sent out this 70 and told them what He did. They were to go to towns, cities and villages and to preach the kingdom of God as being near. The huge thing here is that the 70 were told that Sodom Sidon Tyre and Gommorah were all going to fair better with God than Capernaum and places where Jeus ministered and was rejected. If these places had seen the miracles of Jesus they would not be on the list of the condemned. That is a scary thought.
But what is more scary than that, is the idea that those preaching he kingdom were to be accepted or rejected. The decision to do either was an eternal decision. That really scares me. If my life is such that people reject Jesus because of me, then i have a lot to answer for. This is why we have to be faithful to be on the ruight page and to preach the right message. The gospel is not a gimmick or a game. It is the very truth of God designed to reveal His rtighteousness (justification). We don't want people rejection Christ because of us so let's make sure we get it right.
Lord, Help me to be a faithful preacher of the gospel. AMEN
